How Jose Mourinho’s tactics proved how far Liverpool have come

The loss meant the Reds’ title hopes are no longer in their own hands, with Manchester City arguably the favourites to win the Premier League this season. But whatever happens over the final few weeks of the season it is important to remember just how far Liverpool have come, and no matter where they finish in the table this season has to go down as a fabulously successful campaign. Last year the club finished in seventh place, and Champions League football looked a long way off, while no one was seriously talking up their title chances. But Brendan Rodgers has done a remarkable job and the quality of football his team has played has been a joy to watch.
