Steve McClaren has been confirmed as the new manager of Derby County, replacing Nigel Clough who was sacked on Saturday.


McClaren, a former Derby player and manager of local rivals Nottingham Forest, returns to management after a spell as first-team coach at Championship leaders QPR.


The former England, FC Twente and Middlesbrough boss was appointed boss at Pride Park after travelling north for talks on Monday morning.
