David Moyes has confirmed Manchester United are done in the January transfer market, and informed television crews camped outside of the training ground that they might as well go home.

Having signed Juan Mata from Chelsea for a club-record £37.1million, the Scot says he has closed his cheque book for the month, and advised gossip-hunting TV crews to save themselves a day’s work.

‘You can stand your cameras down. I don’t think they will be required. We have done our business,’ he said.

‘I’m not disappointed we only got one in. I said at the start we wouldn’t do much. Juan has been everything I thought.’
